Wilsonart 500 vs. 600 vs. H2O Contact Adhesive Comparison
Wilsonart® 500 vs. 600 vs. H2O Contact Adhesive: Which One Do You Need?
Three contact adhesives, three very different shops. Here's the real difference between the professional grade, the everyday grade, and the water-based option — all sold in 1-gallon cans, with true cost-per-bonded-square-foot so you can compare like for like.
The Short Answer
Wilsonart 500 is the professional, fast-drying, production-shop grade adhesive — built for high-volume fabrication shops that run through adhesive fast.
Wilsonart 600 is the more forgiving, easier-to-control solvent-based grade adhesive with a longer working window — ideal for cabinet shops, remodelers, and DIYers. It's OTC-compliant for air-quality-regulated markets.
Wilsonart H2O is the non-flammable, water-based option — near-zero VOC, safe to spray/brush/roll where solvent adhesives are restricted, and the only one of the three rated for postforming as well as flatwork.
All three bond laminate to substrate with a cold-press, contact-cement process, and all three ship in a 1-gallon can. Cabinetmaker Warehouse stocks all three — see them below.

4 Tips for a Clean Contact-Adhesive BondWorks across all three grades
Apply an even, uniform coat to both surfaces — the laminate and the substrate — not just one.
Let the adhesive flash off until it's dry to the touch before joining surfaces — premature contact weakens the bond.
Use dowels or kraft paper to position large sheets before final contact — you only get one shot once it grabs.
Roll the full surface with a J-roller at firm, even pressure to eliminate air pockets and weak spots.
